Roxana Velásquez Martínez del Campo

Although born in the United States, she has studied and worked in Mexico most of her life. She is an Art Historian and holds a Master’s degree in Art Studies from the Universidad Iberoamericana (Mexico City). She began her professional career at the National Museum of San Carlos, where she worked as director from 1997 to 2004; the latter year she was appointed director of the National Museum of Art (Mexico). In 2007 she was the resposible of the direction of the Palace of Fine Arts Museum, where she organized exhibitions on Frida Kahlo, El Greco and Tamara Lempicka. Since 2010 she is director of the Art Museum of San Diego (California).
