Rebeca J. Long

Rebecca J. Long is a specialist in Spanish and Italian painting of the 16th and 17th centuries, and completed her graduate studies at New York University’s Institute of Fine Arts, where she will defend her PhD dissertation in 2019. Her dissertation focuses Bartolomé Carducho and the role of Italian art and artists at the Spanish court. Her research interests include international markets for art in the early modern period, the work of itinerant artists, art academies and art theory, patronage in Italy and the Spanish world, and the history of the collecting of Spanish art in the United States.
